Inventions
This project was tailored to incorporate art and language arts. I wanted the students to also share their ideas and understand the a little about the process of what it takes to be an inventor. We talked about patents and looked at popular inventions of the times. It was interesting to see the "take-aways" that the students had after going through each step. I began this class by showing the students a presentation of new inventions for 2012. Then, I had the students brainstorm a list of inventions that they thought the world needed. Afterwards, they each made a sketch and a model of their top invention. The students also wrote a brief summary about how their invention would work. These projects were showcased at our Talents Celebration at the end of the year.
