Play Dough Charades
To begin play dough charades, start by setting up groups of students (three to four per group) at tables with supplies. The simple supplies I used were plastic forks, spoons, knives, sporks, and plates. I started the game by having one member of each group come to the front of the room, and I would show him or her a card with a word and picture on it. Some examples of these cards I showed are listed below. I liked using a genre because it gave the students a theme to stick to while playing the game. The rules were that no one could give verbal clues or create words while sculpting. The first team to guess the sculpted object on their plate or table won the round. We played several rounds within a class period.
